Most sincere condolences to Andre, Natalie and Stephanie for their loss of their dear dad. He was a good soul and had a great heart. At camp, here in Lavigne, he was mostly known as muscelman. (you'd wonder why EH!) lol. He had the most infectious laugh I had ever heard and loved to laugh along with it. I'll always remember the time I was at camp and I was freaking out that I had gotten my truck stuck in the ditch and at the same time Gab was walking by, and he hollered to me, if I needed a hand,. I said, "Oh yes please" and before I could get the engine started, he had lifted the back of the truck and slid it back up on the road and I just drove it away as if it had never been stuck. I got out of the truck to thank him and before I could say anything, he said, with a really stern look "who taught you how to drive, your grandmother" and started with his laugh again. I found that really funny and laught hard with him, half because of his laugh and half because I think he really meant it. lol. Hopely this most difficult time passes quickly and you guys soon find peace and comfort . We'll all miss him. Neil & Sue

Man of honour:

During the 1997 strike, my truck needed u-joints. I always had trouble with those. He mentioned he does small jobs like this & no reason to go to a garage to have it done, especially since we were on strike & had no money coming in. He came over one day to get this done as we lived close anyway. He ended up damaging the shaft to the point where I needed to buy a new one. Can't drive a truck with a bent shaft! I was miffed and didn't know what to say.

A week later I see him on the picket line and was an awkward moment as he saw my anger over what had happened. Without saying anything, he offered to pay for the new shaft and was a welcome relief but I mentioned he did not do this intentionally and was only trying to help. I asked him to only cover half as I had an equal part in it as well. This has stuck with me forever.

Condolences to the family on his passing. Trained & worked with him for all of his 30 years. He was always a kidder & joked he would retire before me. Will miss his humour & laughter. Pic included here is of him in our IPC lunchroom in Aug of 2019. May you find comfort in this time of grieving.
