The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Monday, January 30, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Wife of the late Alfred Potvin, daughter of the late Joseph and the late Amanda Pitre. Beloved mother of Orville (Claudette); Ronald (Veryl); Laurent (Lorraine); Normand (Laurette); Gilles; Charles (Francine) and Lorraine (Gilbert). Loving sister of Léonie Chartrand (Pitre) and predeceased by her 12 siblings - Léon; Moïse; Albert; Annie; Ernest; Alfred; Dora; Hector; Gracia; Oscar; Émile and Roméo. Grandmother to Sylvie; Suzanne; Normand; Lynn; Cheryl; Terry; Ricky; Joanne; Michel; Lisa; Ginger; Julie; Anne; Luc; Pierre and André. Great-grandmother to 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Germaine was a homemaker for much of her life; later working as a school janitor for the elementary school board in Noelville. She dearly loved her Toronto Maple Leafs and will no doubt be cheering for the Leafs from up above. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Friday, February 3, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m and Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the St-David’s Parish Hall, Noelville. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St-David Church, Noelville. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
