The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Yolande (née Lapierre) Giroux of Sturgeon Falls. Son of the late Ovila and the late Marguerite (née Sylvestre) Giroux. Loving father of Gérard (Lucienne), Francine Viau (Donald) both of Lavigne, Thérèse McDonald (Gilbert Gareau) of Sturgeon Falls, Jean-Claude (Francine), Luc (Mary Ann) both of Verner, Louise Laferrière (Raymond) of Sudbury, Lucie McGonigal (Daniel) of Calgary and Gisèle Jodouin (John) of Phelston. Predeceased by his son Daniel and by his daughter Mariette Choquette (Arthur of Sudbury). Dear brother of Gabriel (Jeannine) of Sudbury and Simone Lavoie of Thunder Bay. Predeceased by his brother Antonio (late Jessie) and by his sisters Bernadette Labelle (late Herménégilde) and Georgette Cayen (Guy of Sturgeon Falls). Cherished grandfather of 22, great-grandfather of 18 and great-great-grandfather of 5. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at St-Thomas Parish Hall in Warren, Friday, April 21, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. in St-Thomas Church, Warren.
